I found this earlier today while I was at work trying not to work. I was more interested in looking for old GM B body 2-doors (can anything so massive be called a coupe?), specifically the Pontiac Bonneville and Catalina.
So I head over to Auto Trader Classics and immediately start looking at Trans Ams, where I see a link to this beauty. As the story goes, ASC, while working on the F-body convertible, was looking into other possible F-body conversions. The design featured a windshield that flowed into the roof where it then met the sunroof.
The show car features a polycarbonate windshield, but it proved to difficult for ASC to manufacture it out of glass. However some ideas lived on. In order to have such a large sunroof, it had to open outside of the body. Though fairly common place now, this is the first example that I am aware of.

I call complete bullshit on those 1/4 mile and 0-60 figures. Thats buick GN territory. The 350 wasn't even that fast!

It gets worse. The engine is actually a 305 and its an automatic. Maybe they're listing the time for the 89 that had the GN's engine.
